Default Historic Past of the Titanic

This really would be something to see when visiting Las Vegas. It is an exhibit of the Titanic. I personally have always been intrigued with anything to do with the Titanic. Especially seeing how it was supposed to be an unsinkable ship, which as we all know ended up at the bottem of the ocean.

This exhibit is on display at the Luxor in Las Vegas, Nevada. The exhibit is more than 20,000 square feet and houses many items which have been recovered from the Titanic including a unopened bottle of vintage 1900 bottle of champaigne, a window frame, ships whistles and more.

They have also made a recreation of the grand staircase which was one of many great features aboard this ship. They have also expanded the Promenage Deck for people to enter and experience the frigid temperatures that those on the Titanic that horrible night had felt.

In this exhibit you can also see into the past as well as the present of the Titanic and see her crew and even passengers who were aboard. As we all know many died that night in April when the Titanic struck an iceburg.

I think that this exhibit would be something that I would just have to see when I visit Vegas. For anyone who has loved learning as much as possible about this ship, crew and passengers this would be a must see.

I really wanted to see this exhibit when it came close to where I lived and I missed it. This exhibit has gotten great feedback from visitors and is also known to have some paranormal experiences from visitors and care takers of the exhibit.

I myself really enjoy the history and learning about stories the people that survived and lost their lives that night the Titanic sank. I think the exhibit would be a must on anybody list and if your in Vegas and get to see it, I would love to hear about it!

Here are a few Titantic facts for you:

It is said to have taken the Titantic 2 hours and 40 minutes to sink.

The Titantic was 882 and a half feet long and 92 and a half feet wide.

It had 9 decks and stood as tall as an 11 story building.

The Titantic weighed over 53,000 tons.

It cost $7.5M to build the Titantic, an equivilant of $123M in todays money.

2 men died during the building and launch of the Titantic.

The captains name was Edward John Smith.

There were 329 first class passengers, 285 second class passengers, 710 third class passengers and 1,324 total passengers.

There was a total of 103 children aboard.

These are just a few of the interesting facts about the Titantic. And this is something I would be very interested in seeing also.

Those are some interesting facts you found. The exhibit has a room in it, that when you enter you can feel the bitter the cold the passengers felt the night they went into the water. That has to be a eerie feeling, if you ask me, to feel only for a brief moment how cold and frigid the water was.

I have heard this from several places as well, the Ghost Hunter show with TAPS did a show there when it was in Atlanta.

I would love to walk the exhibit and have something happen!

That room would definitely give a person a feel for what the illfated passengers of the Titantic went through at the end. Im not sure, however, that I would want anything to "happen" while I was doing this tour.

Now heres a couple more facts about the Titantic for you.

The Titantic carried 76 cases of Dragons Blood, which is a product from palm trees used to color wood varnish and in womens makeup.

The first passenger to board the Titantic was Thomas Andrews, the ships builder.

Dog breeds that were on the ship included, a pomeranian, a pekinese, a chow chow, an airedale, and a french bulldog.

Did you guys watch the video on the Titanic Exhibit website? WOW what a feat it was to get that part of the hull into the Luxor!

History to me is interesting and this is something that I've wanted to see since it first started traveling to different museums. The history and story that come from the Titanic have intrigued me for years.
