Default How Safe is it to tour Vegas?

Honestly people how safe is it to get out and actually walk around in Las Vegas now days?

There are more people in Las Vegas than there are in some entire states so you know that there is going to be more crime.

Though I wonder how safe it is to actually tour the area with out getting yourself mugged or murdered?

Maybe I am watching just to much CSI (crime scene investigators) on TV or something but it also makes sense to ask this question as well.

I have posted before some tips on keeping yourself save in Las Vegas and I read a whole lot of tips and ideas and so on. I just wonder if Vegas is really as bad as some make it out to be or if it is more or less just like any other area.

I have never been there so I can't answer this one, so I am hoping that one of you who has been there and recently will be able to shed some light on this one.

For real how safe is it to tour anywhere now a days,[people are hurting for jobs and money and they are getting pretty desperate for any way to get by.

They will resort to stealing and conning any one for any thing,so you always have to be careful and stay on your toes at all time no matter where you go especially Vegas.

I haven't been to Las Vegas in a year or so, but it was fairly safe then and it couldn't be as bad as Barcelona, Spain.

In Barcelona my wife and I got off a tour bus and watched a local man walk off with a ladies purse. It took two people to grab the man as he looked at them and finally let go of the purse.

Las Vegas may be slightly worse now than it was a year ago because of the depression they're going through, but it's always good to be on guard in any big city you visit.

As soon as I get a chance to visit Vegas, I'm going. There may be a rise in crime, but I'm sure there's also a rise in security too.

As long as you stay on the stip you are ok, but I suggest never walk alone anyplace these days.

I have been to Vegas several times and I felt safe the whole time. I did not leave the strip.

Thanks everyone. It is quite true that just about every where anymore there is a chance that something will happen. Even more so for places as large as Las Vegas.

Thanks to the slump that this country is in there are an awful lot of people who are desperate for money. Of course this government sure isn't helping with that situation.

I do hope to be able to visit Las Vegas some day. Though I don't know when that will be.

As for staying on the strip are there lot's of things to do and see on the strip? I have read about many things that are not on the strip that I would have liked to do, however it sounds like it is a better idea to stay on the strip rather than travel away from it for fun.

Then I guess it really doesn't matter I know most of the casinos are on the strip and that is probably where I would end up spending most of my time and money anyway,LOL.
