Default St. Patricks Day In Vegas

Of course I wanted to be in Las Vegas celebrating not only my birthday but St. Patricks day as well. Though of course life had other plans for me as usual.

However thanks to Utube and its users I did at least get to see some of the things that went on in Las Vegas on St. Patricks day.

Here is one video I found that I thought was pretty neat and the music was cool as well in this one.

There sure was alot of green every where you looked there. I hope there were several people who manage to take advantage of the lucky day and win some nice jackpots.

You mentioned in your post that there was so much green. Well, green is not St. Patricks color.

Heres the scoop on St. Patricks actual color and why green was used.

Quote:
The color of St Patrick is Blue. Green is Ireland's national color. Green has been gradually accepted overtime as the color of St. Patrick's day for numerous ideas. Most Famously, the 3 leaf clovers St. Patrick used to teach Christianity, less known (but set the standard) the Irish Rebellion of 1798. Irish soldiers wanted to get the attention of the government and wore bright green uniforms. Last but not least, when the color fades, it tends to turn into a shade of green. Green is easily accepted for how green the land is, but Blue is the true color of St. Patrick

Very interesting and thanks for the educational tip IluvVegas.

Also to add to that, from Wikipedia, "the Shamrock is a symbol of Ireland, and it is a three-leafed old white clover," not the green we thought it should be.
But, as IluvVegas mentions, it was changed to green by the Irish soldiers to gain attention from their government.

I'd say the Irish soldiers must have made a huge impact, since today we all think "green" is the color of the Irish and the Shamrock.

Very intresting indeed. Maybe this explains why my favorite color is also blue. I was born in March and everyone pretty much tried to push the color green on me because of the month of my birth, though for as long as I can remember blue has always been my prefered choice of color.

Thanks for that information. We all learn something new every day and today I learned a few reasons as to why the color of St.Patricks day was changed to green rather than its orginal color of blue.

Even though the orginal color was blue, when anyone thinks of St.Patricks day the color which comes to mind is of course green and will forever been green most likely. However my preference to color will always been blue,LOL.
