Default Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort

I guess the Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort is about to undergo a major renovation which should make it a pretty spectacular place if you like the snow!

I know they plan to expand their trails from 11 to 50.

They currently have three chair lifts and are adding 7 more.

They are expanding their snowmaking capability.

They will be open all year round after these renovations are complete which is awesome.

The lodge will expand three times it's current size to 30,000 sq feet so special events can take place there.

Quote:
“We’re transitioning from a local ski hill to a regional destination resort where people can come and truly experience the outdoors and the backyard of Las Vegas,” Stickelman says. “Everyone knows about the great food and shows of the Strip, but there are only a few places—Hoover Dam, Red Rock—you can go and get an outdoor experience in Vegas. We hope to fill that need.”

Default Re: Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort

This new Ski & Snowboard Resort will be great for this upcoming Winter, and for them to get a facelift during the summer was a great idea.

I use to ski a lot when I was a teen and surely miss the freedom of floating down a big hill with the wind whipping around me.

But now, I think I would have a hard time getting off of the lift chair, like I had done many years ago for my first honeymoon in the 90's...
My ex-wife and I ended up clipping each other's skiis and landing on our bottoms, about fifteen feet away from the chair lifts.

An instructor noticed we were having problems and asked us if we would like to join a class on skiiing.
We had to decline since we were bugeted for just one day at the Lake Tahoe Ski Resort.
(The rest of our money was put aside for gambling ).
