No Pro Sports Teams in Las Vegas

I just had a thought occur to me... ha ha- go ahead and get your digs in. I know thoughts don't occur all that often for me rofl!

Anyhow, I was wondering why in the heck Las Vegas doesn't have any professional sports teams of their own? Sure they play host to a lot of sporting events but none call Vegas home. Why is that? With a city that big you'd think they would have something by now!

Have their even been any professional sports teams that called Las Vegas home?

Maybe it's because Vegas is more of a tourist place therefore, people have their own fav teams in their own hometowns. They wouldn't support a Vegas team. But there are millions who now call las vegas home on a permanent basis so even that isn't reason to hold them back at this point.

I don't know, I just thought that it was interesting and it made me curious.
