Las Vegas is about to host one of the biggest events of poker. I really wish I could be there to watch but unfortunately I can not. For those who want to attend I wish you the best seat in the house.

The Amazon and Pavilion ballrooms at the Rio are mostly silent this week.
Aside from the handful of employees who ventured in to start setting up Thursday, the rooms were also empty.
Consider it the calm before the storm. Starting next Friday, the Rio will transform into the world capital of poker for the 41st annual World Series of Poker.
57 tournaments the World Series will host this summer. It kicks off Friday, May 28, with the $500 buy-in casino employee's event and $50,000 buy-in Poker Player's Championship, which consists of an eight-game mix. It ends Saturday, July 17, when nine players emerge from the $10,000 no-limit hold 'em Main Event to make the final table that reconvenes in November.

I can't wait to see how this plays out. If you plan on going drop a line and let us know how it goes. I just hope that there are enough rooms left for all the observers who show up. I am sure however that there will be.
