The Comedy Club at the Tropicana is set to open June 28th. This is wonderful news if you are a comedy fan.

During his interview with host Michael Nayt, Garrett said, "On June 28, I'm opening up my own comedy club. In Las Vegas — at the Tropicana." The space is to occupy the old Comedy Stop club, most recently a project of comic Bobby Slayton.
Seeking a return to the vibe of Old Vegas, Garrett already is drawing material from the neighborhood, jabbing at comic Louie Anderson, a headliner across the Strip at Excalibur. He told Duke, "You go to the Knights of the Round Table, then you ride Louie Anderson over to my show."

Update: An MGM Mirage spokesman said Thursday that Garrett and the company have amicably agreed to cancel his scheduled performances at The Mirage after Garrett announced his plans for the Tropicana to the hotel earlier this month.
