Default Mandalay Bay Evicted Rumjungle Nightclub

Mandalay Bay took the owners of Rumjungle nightclub to court to have them evicted and they won.

They wanted Rumjungle evicted because they say they were very late on rent. Rumjungle says that they were late with rent because Mandalay Bay allowed another nightclub to open, Eyecandy Lounge, which hurt Rumjungles business. They claim that Mandalay breached the contract that says Rumjungle was to be the only club on the property.

Quote:
Mandalay Bay and Rumjungle’s owner have been engaged in litigation for two years over Mandalay Bay’s claim that Rumjungle is behind on rent; and Rumjungle’s claim that actions by Mandalay Bay have caused financial problems for the club.
I guess Mandalay Bay is looking into putting a restaurant/lounge in the now empty space.

Your right it does. I haven't heard any more detailed information about this but if Mandalay did go against a contract that was supposed to have Rumjungle be exclusive then it is their fault if Rumjungle lost business. Rumjungle should have taken Mandalay to court over the breech in contract.

Well apparently Mandalay Bay did not go against any contract that they had with Rumjungle or else the judge would have pointed that out when they went to court. That is the good thing about contracts betweem business's it helps to keep people honest.

Granted I don't think that it is right or even necessary to have more than one club in the same area, because that really would hurt business. Then again that is how some people do business.

Las Vegas can be a vicous city and thing like this are always going to be happening. When a new club opened in the area with Rumjungle they should have gone above and beyond to help ensure that their customers would continue coming in.

On one hand I would think that the folks at Mandalay wouldn't want to put another night club in because they know it would hurt the other's business, but on the other hand I'm sure they did it for some variety to their guests and because, lets face it, it's more money coming for them for renting out another place to a club.

I agree with queen of hearts that Rumjungle should have done a little more promoting and maybe some extra incentive stuff to keep the customer flowing in their doors.

I will have to agree with you Rival. It was up to Rum Jungle to bring in business at Mandalay Bay or anywhere else they set up shop.
It wasn't up to Mandalay Bay to tend to Rum Jungle's advertising, it's all on them for not making enough to pay for rent.

Now I bet Rum Jungle has lost monies trying to fight for their rent or spot at Mandalay Bay. Live and learn.

Las VegasMandalay Bay in Las Vegas has won the right to evict the Rumjungle nightclub there and the club is now closed. The club closed and Mandalay Bay is evaluating new concepts for the space. It likely will be a restaurant/lounge concept, Gordon Absher, spokesman for Mandalay Bay owner MGM Resorts International. Rumjungle employees worked for Rumjungle’s parent company, not Mandalay Bay.

I tried searching for anything new about Mandalay Bay evicting the Rum Jungle, but came up short for any new news on that issue.

What did come up was something that happened back in June 2010, but the local Judge blocked Mandalay Bay's attempt to evict Rum Jungle.

I took the liberty to check Mandalay Bay's site and don't see Rum Jungle listed anywhere...
So that either means they have left the building, or Mandalay Bay has evicted them or decided not to list them.
