I really don't like the double standards!! I mean the laws that are enforced about the average person should also be enforced on those who are popular!

I really don't see why actors and so on get such special treatment, when those of us who do things wrong pay for our screw ups, and that is how it should be for EVERYONE regardless of how much money we make, where we live and what we do for a living!

Just because some people make more money and live in better cities and what not, does not mean that they are above the law, yet that seems to be how it is.

Maybe if they were actually punished the way everyone else is, they may learn their lessons and show people that no one is above the law.

Though from what I just read, Paris Hilton was in fact arrested, but then later released. This is not the first time this girl was caught doing something illegal, yet something tells me nothing will come of this at all and she will continue on in using drugs with out a worry in the world.

You are probably right Queen. They both will probably just keep on doing whatever they want knowing their Daddy's can get them out of it.

Paris wasn't the only one banned from the Wynn in Las Vegas. Cy was as well. At least Steve Wynn doesn't care who they are. Famous or not apparently he won't tolerate that sort of behavior and I like that.

Cy Waits was a managing partner of the nightclubs Tryst and XS along with his twin brother. Well he has been kicked out of that position due to this incident. His twin will continue on.

Apparently to Cy's arrest report he failed several tests at the scene. He couldn't balance himself. He couldn't stand on one leg without putting his foot down. He was also swaying a lot.

They found a "roach" (a used marijuana cigarette) in the car as well.

Quote:
And arresting officer Michael Polion wrote in the report, "I could smell marijuana coming out of the vehicle, pulled up to passenger side and driver stated he just got done smoking."

Waits, 34, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He spent the night in jail before he was released on $2,000 bail with a Nov. 29 court date.

Hilton, 29, was arrested on one felony count of cocaine possession after a police lieutenant discovered a baggie of cocaine when she opened her purse to retrieve lip balm and the plastic baggie fell out. Hilton claimed the cocaine wasn't hers.

Hilton was freed without bail before dawn Saturday after spending less than three hours handcuffed on a jailhouse booking room bench. She is scheduled to appear before Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Joe Bonaventure on Oct. 27.
So Hilton is free to party until the end of October. I am sure that will give her overpaid attorney's enough time to get her out of it!

Its been reported that Paris only spent 3 hours in jail because the police didnt want a disruption of the jails operations.

And as for the boyfriend, he admitted he just got done smoking pot and he was on the street right away two. These double standards for the stars just plainly rankle me. There cannot be one set of rules for everyday people and another for someone just because they are famous.

But I guess it all depends where the money is.

You said it sister!!! It's all about where the money is. If you have the green, you have a ticket out. If you don't have the green, your screwed! It's not fair but thats how this world works I guess.

I read some of what the police had to say about this...

Quote:
Las Vegas police processed Paris Hilton though jail as quickly as possible after her arrest on cocaine charges, worried her presence could cause disruptions.

Hilton was released from jail three hours after arriving, a quick turnaround that some say suggests special treatment.

But police officials said they were worried the presence of a celebrity in the jail would cause disruptions, so they tried to get her out quickly.
What a major crock of BS! (How many $100 dollar bills did she line their palms with!!!)

Tons of people rushed to see Hilton during the traffic stop, and snap photos, calling out to her.

The police said they worried there would be a similar frenzy if Hilton stayed inside the jail with other inmates.

Quote:
"Yeah, she was treated differently so I don't have a disruption of my process here at the county jail," Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Deputy Chief Jim Dixon told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "When you bring somebody in like that, everybody comes over and tries to look at them. I'd have officers attempting to keep inmates away from her. I'd have disruptions."
I really don't look for much at all if anything in the way of punishment for her. Or for Cy for that matter.

Well, that and all teenagers are invincible (and you can't convince them otherwise). I think people in the spotlight are high on more than just the occasional joint, they get high on the same invincibility, riding that high horse, to that high tower they live in. We as a public want them to be better than us. We want to believe that because they are on our televisions and computers and radios and stadiums, that these stars possess something the rest of us don't, and that's why we get angry when they fail because not only did they fail themselves, they made a mockery of the rest of us. And we want them not only to pay for their crimes, but also for being such a disappointment.

I think it's easy for us to tell movie stars to do the time for the crime, to tell law enforcement to treat them like everyone else. Truth is, I'm sure if one of us, or one of our kids, made a "mistake", we'd want to do everything we could to make it go away, lessen the sentence, whatever. I'm not saying we should do that, mind you, but it's our first reaction (well, maybe after being angry that somebody got bit by the dumbass bug). Unfortunately, it's not the laws or the punishments that make us better people, it's the choices we make and how we handle the consequences.

What gets me is the fact that our kids today have no one to actually look up to. They have us as parents and grandparents but they think we are all old fashioned and weird.

I think more emphasis needs to be put on the stars out there that do good things and act responsibly. What is happening now is that the kids of today are being sent all the wrong signals.

But the problem with that is that good things dont sell newspapers or media time. And thats a shame in itself.

This is all a crock of shit. Paris Hiton should be in jail!! I mean lets face it if she were put into solitary or something along those lines then there would be no worry about her presence interupting anything at the jail house!!

Though of course that would or could never happen because her Daddy has all the money he needs to get her out of any and all trouble that Paris finds herself in.

Now this is not the first time that Paris has been in trouble with the law, but how much do you all wanna bet that she will only receive a slap on the hand like you would punish a 2 year old and told to behave and let go after her court hearing!!!

This really pisses me off that she out and about free to party, shop and do what ever else she pleases, when there are thousands of peope in jail for much less than a cocaine possession charge.

Unbelievable! Just like every one of us said she would get out out of it... she did! No jail time what so ever for miss priss Paris Hilton.

And here is something that i didn't know. This wasn't the first time in recent weeks that Paris was caught with drugs. This was her THIRD time! She was caught in South Africa and Corsica in July and both times she was just let go.

Quote:
A $2,000 plea deal was all it took for former jailbird Paris Hilton to avoid felony charges and jail after being caught with cocaine on the Sunset Strip in Las Vegas last month.

ABC News reports that "Paris the heiress" made a deal with Clark County District Attorney David Roger that allows her to plead guilty to 2 misdemeanors, pay a small fine, do 200 hours of community service, and go on probation for a year instead of doing time in the slammer.

However, the Las Vegas penal system will make no attempt to monitor the jet-setting socialite or her drug use during that 1 year period.
Sure must be nice to be her. Have everything handed to you, don't appreciate any of it and always do whatever you want with no consequence.

Any guesses to what her 200 hours of community service is going to be? Giving pedicures to the homeless?

This morning; I watched on the Weather Channel, of all places, that Paris Hilton is on probation...how terrible!

Oh, this is just great. Like, I wonder how much Paris Hilton had to give up to get only a year of probation?

I guess because she plead guilty to misdemeanor charges, and probably small fines, she will get to be free.

Oh, let's not forget her 1-year probation. I wonder if that means she will have to stay in Vegas during that time?

That's gotta be real hard on her (weep weep...not!).
