Default Auction at Planet Hollywood

This annual auction was held on Friday and Saturday.

In total there were 21 items up for bids from Michael Jackson. There were other items there as well from people like Bob Hope, Cher, and Elvis.

A signed photo of Elvis went for $7,000. A empty pill bottle prescribed to Elvis went for $7,000. A leather doctor bag went for $12,500. His doctor actually carried it with him when he traveled with Elvis. A neckless that Elvis wore, puka shell necklace, went for $97,500.

But what really went for alot of money was the Michael Jackson lot. A few months ago when the planning started for this auction, no one would know that Jackson's lot would go so high.

A blouse that Jackson wore on his Victory tour went for a whopping $42,000. There was an original Jackson 5 album display that was signed by all the Jackson's went for $27,000. Six pictures from the 70's went for $27,000, and one picture was with Jackson and Muhammad Ali. There was also a Mickey Mouse painting that went for $20,000.

The lot of Jackson was expected to go at a much lower price. All together it is said that the collection went over 20 times of what they thought they were going to get for it.

Just goes to show how much he was loved all around the world.

Thats a lot of money for the memorabilia! I bet if he had not died, the items wouldn't have went so high. Not to say that he wasn't greatly loved. I am just saying it seems when celebrities are no longer with us, their items are more sought.

WOW $97,500 for a necklace

I know it was Elvis's and all, but really? That's a lot of money to spend on something that they are probably just gonna put in a case and never wear it.

I wasn't going to reply to this because I think it's a waste of money for someone to buy things for so much, just to have it on display somewhere that not many people will visit.

Unless of course much of those things are going to a rock-n-roll museum, or a place simular, where the public can view them.
