Default Could Las Vegas Lose Business?

I have been reading that more and more states are getting casinos, or adding in table gaming and so on.

I just wonder if those states that are expanding their gambling choices are going to cause Las Vegas to actually lose out on business.

Granted I know that Las Vegas does have a hell of a lot more things to offer it's visitors like more shows, sightseeing and so on with a list that never really seems to end.

Though I wonder if more and more states start getting casinos and table games, if Las Vegas casinos will start seeing a drop in their casino's revenue?

I know that it would be great to visit Las Vegas some day, however if more and more casinos are getting table games then I would prefer to stay in my own state to gamble and only visit Vegas to do some sightseeing and maybe see a few shows.

I just read this where Delaware is getting table games added to their casinos and it made me wonder how all of this is going to effect the casino's in Las Vegas.

Delaware Casino's

I would say that the people who gamble in the surrounding states would probably tend to go to the new casinos in their areas but people who live far away go for a vacation. I don't really think that will change too much even with new casinos popping up.

I doubt that other states having casinos and table gaming will actually effect Las Vegas. After all, it is the gambling capital of the US as far as most people are concerned and no matter where else you go to gamble, Las Vegas is the at the top of everyones list of places to gamble and I am very positive that it will remain right there.

If I could, I would go to Vegas once a month just to gamble, and then perhaps see a show or two.

Its a different world out there in Vegas as far as the gambling aspect is concerned. The excitement, the lights, the celebrities will always bring people back for more.

I think that if the gambling bill is passed and the online gambling is legalized in the US.Vegas may be affected some but I really do not think that it will be enoough to even notice hardly.

People will just get a feel and practice online but when it comes to vacations and live entertainment,I think Vegas will make it just fine, people will still go and visit to gamble and take a chance to se someone famous.

Las Vegas is too big of a tourist attraction to ever lose business. People go there for an experience.

I have to agree that Las Vegas is a huge tourist attraction with the hundreds of different things that there are to do there. Though I just wonder if the amount of money spent in the casinos on the slots, table games and what ever. I was wondering if that number will take a hit and start to decline a bit.

I am not saying that I think if more states allow gambling and casino's that Las Vegas will no longer be the gambling capital of the world. I just think that they might take a small hit and probably for only a short time if they do.

Vegas I know will always be a tourist attraction, because there is so much to do there. I look forward to hopefully finding out eventually if they do take a hit in the casinos because of the gambling in other states or not.

Personally there are so many things in Las Vegas that I would just love to see and experience personally that hopefully one day I will be able to make there and let myself go a bit and have a ton of fun.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right?????

I don't think it will affect them any.....We have casino's closer to us, but going to vegas is a whole different experience! it's cool to be able to casino hop, if you get tired of playing games at one place you can walk next door...or across street..and try another.

From the sound of things it doesn't sound like they have anything to worry about for at least four years or so.

The US government is still in the ice age and refuses to accept money that could be used in areas that need the help.

Other states are already utilizing the monies that can be made off of the profits of gambling.

Much less the jobs that could be generated from the online gambling to be legalized.

I think Vegas will still see its steady stream of visitors each year. I like to go to Vegas for the experience and all the glitz and glam that is Vegas. There are a few casino's near me that I've been too, but they just don't compare to Vegas.

I have to agree with vegasnut, it's nice to be able to walk next door to another casino when you get tired of playing at one. Granted for the most part the gambling is the same, but each casino tends to have its on ambiance and experience. And thats what will keep people coming to Vegas each and every year.

Don't forget the history of Vegas too. The music and actors, the lights and the dazzle.
