Default Earthquake in Japan

Off the east coast of Honshu Japan a big earthquake that registered a magnitude of 8.9 hit and other mentions of several more earthquakes hit that ranged from 6.9 to 7.3, shortly after the big one.

Not long after Japan's big 8.9 earthquake, a 23-foot tsunami was triggered and more than 200 people lost their lives.
The numbers are expected to rise when daylight reaches Japan again and an accurate count can be made.

Please pray for the people in Japan, as earthquakes are still going on near the east coast of Honshu Japan.

The earthquake count near Japan was at 80 earthquakes on my last visit to the following earthquake site...

Ive been watching this on TV whenever I get the chance and it is just mind boggling. And to have had not one but 80 earthquakes is just unbelievable.

We will be keeping these people in our prayers.

I was also watching the tsunami waves that are hitting Hawaii and will be hitting Oregon and California.

Hopefully there will be no further loss of life.

The power of nature is just unbelievable. It's really sad that all of those lives have been lost and all of the destruction.

Whats going on with the weather lately? We are seeing every form of weather here in the United States right now. We are flooding here in Ohio, tsunami's hitting the West Coast after Japan, snow, rain and on and on. It's been really crazy.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the death toll from the earthquake and tsunami in Japan has reached at least 2800.
It is said that there are at least 10,000 people who may have lost their lives near the coastline of Miyagi prefecture in Japan.

On top of that, a second nuclear reactor has exploded at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station today.
That makes a total of 3 out of the 6 nuclear reactors that are down and talk of more radiation leaks and a possible melt down at the power plant.

The nuclear technicians/workers and others are doing everything they can to keep this situation under control.
But, with the continuing onslaught of earthquakes off Japan's coast, reaching over 300 after Japan's big earthquake on March 11th, it's hard to say what will happen in the near future.
There have been over 40 earthquakes off the coast of Japan just today measuring 4.6 to 5.4 magnitudes.

Please send your prayers and help to the people of Japan.

That is all just unbelievable. That many earthquakes, then the nuclear reactors on top of it. Its just too much to comprehend.

I will keep them in my prayers as I am sure everyone here has been and is doing.

And hopefully this will all end soon.

Well, there was a third explosion in reactor #2 at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station on Tuesday, that took place at 6am local time, and they say it damaged the casing that the reactor is kept in, but the core is undamaged.

They also mention that the #2 reactor explosion set fire to the building which contains the #4 reactor which was said to be shut down.

This last explosion caused a radioactive leak that was pretty high and since then they mention the radioactivity has dropped to a safer level.

I just hope they can keep pouring on the water to keep the uranium rods cooled enough to prevent a melt down.
Japan has asked the United States for more equipment to help cool the reactors. I'm sure the US will get on that asap.

The numbers of those who were killed during Japan's earthquake and tsunami is said to be at around 2,400 on Tuesday.
A much lower amount than the 2,800 that I had mentioned before, and I pray it doesn't go higher than 2,400.

Give to the Japan Earthquake Relief when you can and keep the people of Japan in your prayers.

I had read where people were asked to stay in their homes and not venture outside because of the problems with the reactors.

Its bad enough with the loss of life and property because of the earthquake, but now there will be long term damage because of the reactors. People will most likely come down with radiation poisioning and possibly cancers etc.

Not only does the radiation effect people, but it also gets into the surface water and other waters as well and also effects live stock etc. So the damage from these reactors can wreak havoc for a long time to come.

Tsunami Japan has been considered the worst one in the history of Japan and causalities are countless. The situation had become more dismal when nuclear reactor also burst due to earthquake.

I hate to say it would eventually happen; the #3 reactor at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station is overheating and with higher radiation leaks.

Several helicopters were sent in to drop tons of water on the #3 reactor in hopes that the water would cool it down.
They say there were four water drop attempts to cool down the reactor, but the water was blown away before it landed on target so they suspended that idea.

The #4 reactor storage tank was said to be dry, but there's no official word on that yet.
If the reactor's storage tank gets too hot it will melt and expose the uranium rods. Basically, all hell will break loose if that happens.

Let's hope and pray they will figure out a way to keep these reactor storage tanks cooled off, and soon.

This whole situation is just too much to even fathom. It's incomprehensible. You know, it will be years, decades even before this thing is over. It can and most likely will cause birth defects in women who are pregnant and even those who become pregnant in the future if they have been exposed.

The lost lives... The devastation. It will be a very long time for healing and this isn't even over yet. Who knows whats yet to come.
