Good apartments in Las Vegas?
Can anyone recommend a good apartment complex in Las Vegas? I want to move out there so bad, and looking for a 1BR under $800/month, preferably in a gated community. They must allow pets (cats)...
Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Good apartments in Las Vegas?
I didnt do a whole lot of research on this, but I did find this one place for rent in Las Vegas which seems like it might be worth your time to check out.

Here is a link to the ad that I found online. It does sound like a nice place and is pet friendly. It looks as though it has everything you said you were wanting in a place. I hope that this link will be of use to you.
If this isnt the place for you, then I do hope that you will soon find the perfect place.

Wow, will have to check them out. It looks like they're right across the street from UNLV.

Re: Good apartments in Las Vegas?
I hope that I did something good and found you the perfect place to live in Las Vegas.
I know that it is sometimes really hard to find a decent place as well as one who is friendly towards pets.
I hope that this will all work out for you and if not, I hope that you will quickly find that perfect place where you can be happy.

I hope you really consider thinking about moving to Vegas.
It is one thing to be on a roll and winning a lot while away from the largest gambling city in the world, but once you move there and do continue to gamble, you will either make it or break it.
Many of the smart rich gamblers are either in the game to stay, or just make visits to get away occationally.
I believe 1819 may be able to shed some light on this subject, as he's traveled to Las Vegas many times over the years.
If you do decide to move there permanently, I really hope all works out for you winbig.

Well, I wouldn't be gambling 24/7, but I understand where you're coming from It's just that there's so much to do out there, and close to there, outside of gambling, that I doubt I'd get bored...

i have kicked around buying a home out there. very, very good time to buy. i have looked over in henderson area. if i was to rent i would pick a spot then make an offer. realtors are starvin to death out there and everything is negotiable. the biggest thing that keeps me from buying is i get to stay in any hotel i want for free. why pay taxes and upkeep on a place i really dont need? the job market is like everywhere else at the moment. i dont know what field winbig is in. in good times a job in a casino is very easy to get and you'd be suprised at the money some of those dealers and valet people get. i know a kid making 60k to park cars. dont see how that can be beat for a few hours of mindless work everyday. call a realtor and tell them what you want. dont ask what they have and dont tell them what you want to spend. let them cater to you and then make offers. anything, within reason, is not going to be turned down....

I'm a freelance 'web monkey,' so to speak, so I can work pretty much anywhere in the world that I want to...I work out of my apartment...
I just wish my credit was good enough to buy a house, but it aint so, so I'll just end up having to rent something for the time being..I have a friend that wants to move too, so we'd be splitting the costs, which makes it nice

The thought just hit me with this line from 1819.
Couldn't you buy a home while the market is good, and then sell it later on for a higher price when people start buying again?
I know this could be a far-fetched idea, since most places you buy in certain states require you, or renters, to live there for a while before you can sell.
That could create more problems than what it's worth in the long run.
Just a thought if you were thinking of buying in the Vegas area 1819.

i have picked up a couple places to fix up and sell later. my brothers and i picked up 2 homes that need some tlc. they will almost double in value when the market picks up. vegas is tough since it is over saturated with homes. they built alot on spec and there are whole developements that look like ghost towns. no shortage of homes out there so even when things pick up it might be a tough sell....
