Default Minus 5 Ice Bar

This is just about the coolest thing I have ever seen. (no pun intended!) At the Mandalay Place at Mandalay Bay, they have a bar you can go into that has a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius.

You walk in and you get a parka and booties to wear over your clothes. Then you walk into the ice lounge. They have ice sculptures and architecture.

You can sit down on an ice couch and enjoy you drink. I seen pictures of this place and it is amazing. With it being so darn hot there, what better way to cool off is to sit down with a drink on an ice couch?

I just have to ask, has anyone ever been there? Was it a good time? I'll tell you what, If I ever get to Vegas, I am going to check this place out.

i have been. nothing i would do again. it is more an "event" than a bar. very small and they only let you have a drink or two then kick you out and push in the next crew. it was like 50 bucks for 2 drinks. i have been to similar bars that are much better. i cannot think of them off the top of my head. one was in vegas and they gave you a big fur coat while you where in there. there you purchased a bottle of vodka and could drink at your leisure. the other on is in atlantic city. the name also escapes me and i was only there in february! im pretty sure the one bar was also in mandalay bay...

I may go into shock walking into that place during the summertime. It gets over 120 degrees in Vegas.

I was there in June a couple years ago, and I had a hard time trying to stay comfortable.

I think that was the same year I got sick a few days after I got home.
All those changing temperatures are not good for the body.

If you go to Vegas in the summer, find an inside place to stay for a while and try not to go outside.

I think if I had just gone out a couple times a day, it might have been ok, but I was out there several times a day in the over 100 degree heat.

This is why our forum is great. The internet can make things look so cool to do and then you find someone that went. LOL!!! Nice to know what it is like in the real world.

I booked a hotel one time online that said it was a really nice hotel. I went there and it had bars on the windows. What a lovely view. LOL!!! Needless to say, I went and got my money back and left. (It wasn't in Vegas)

I was just thinking, were you just drinking and dreamt this, and then woke up in jail?

Bars on the windows. Sounds like downtown NYC.
