It's really hard to walk through a casino with nothing else on your mind than throwing a few dollars in a machine that catches you eye.
Most of the hotels have you walk through their casino to get to your hotel room, so don't think you won't be spending a few dollars at the slots.
I'm pretty good at being frugal with my money, but I always end up at the slots having a bit fun with them.
And of course I like to play a few hands of blackjack and hold'em poker at the table games.
Sightseeing can take up much of your time. You can spend a better part of the day just walking up the strip and then back again.
Take your camera and plenty of batteries. Bring your laptop if you can or an extra camera memory card. Don't forget the rest of your necessities for the trip.
Oh, when you check in and get to your room, call room service and have them put a "humidifier" and small "refrigerator" in your room.
If you're not there when they put them into your room, be sure to leave them a tip with a thank you note beside it in plain sight.
Keep your personal things in a safe place. I usually keep what I don't want disturbed in my suitcase, zip it and lock it if you can.
I haven't had anything stolen while in Vegas, but there's always a first time.
The hotels keep a close lookout on their house cleaning personal, so if they ever steal something, they would loose their job and be reported as well.
Check the Las Vegas weather online before you leave, this way you will know how to dress.
The most important thing, is to have fun!
