The United States Postal Service came out with a new stamp featuring the Statue of Liberty. Little did they know though that the photo they used to create the stamp was of the replica of the statue thats in front of the New York New York Casino Hotel in Las Vegas.
They didn't know that it was the replica until someone pointed out the differences between the two.
They say they like the stamp though and they have no plans of pulling it out of circulation.

The US Postal Service's Statue of Liberty forever stamp is a wannabe.
The design is not based on the statue in New York Harbor but on a replica outside the New York-New York casino hotel in Las Vegas.
Postal officials say they weren't aware of that until a stamp expert pointed it out. They say the stamp was designed from a photo provided by an agency that licensed it only as "Statue of Liberty."

Thats kind of funny I think. Not their fault though other than they maybe should have done some more research on it before they went with the photo. No big deal. A stamp is a stamp to me!
