The bad thing about texting is that kids do it in school and shouldnt even be able to take their phones to school let alone use them.

There are phones in the schools that the kids could use in an emergency situation. So leave those cells at home kids.

And you are probably right about your brother as most men dont like to use the phone much.

I think children carrying cell phones can be a good thing and a bad thing:
If they are picked up by a stranger they can get a text out if they're smart enough...
But, there's the problem with them texting in school and sometimes during classes.

I remember my daughter having her cell phone taken away two or three times because she was caught texting in class.
I don't think my son ever had that problem, at that may be because we couldn't add him to our plan.

It's a good thing that the girls carry cell phones these days, you just have to drill it in their heads that it's for emergencies and between classes only.

Yea, but getting it through kids heads that having a cell phone is something only to be used for emergencies and after school can be quite difficult.

My 12 year old grandson doesnt have a cell phone and none of his fingers fell off because of the fact that he doesnt have one.

And when he did have one, it was shut off while he was in school and he understood that it was only for emergency use.

I like all types of text messaging, because it is far away, and make a call, what to say, I have to say, and then hang up, rather than those phones who continue to beep, tell me, I have another text message.
