An art coordinator in Las Vegas has planned to sell for charity John Wayne Gacy's paintings. John Wayne Gacy wasa convicted serial killer. He captured, raped and killed 33 boys and young men within six years. He was caught in 1978. He buried most of his victims in and around his house.
While awaiting his execution he painted.
In 1994 he was executed. After his execution his paintings were auctioned by his attorney. Some of the collection was purchased and burned in a bonfire which more than 300 people attended. Some of which were family members of victims.
The planned auction is to benefit The National Center for Victims of Crime.

The National Center for Victims of Crime is demanding that its name not be associated with the exhibit, entitled "Multiples: The Artwork of John Wayne Gacy," saying it did not agree to be a beneficiary of the sale.
Since word spread that Gacy's work would be displayed at the Arts Factory beginning this month through September, the event has been surprisingly controversial in a city where very little surprises.

To me, selling these painting is like justifying or glorifying what he did. I say throw them all in a heap and burn them. I know not everyone would agree. I understand that charities could use the money but I am with this charity. It's not worth the money.
