Teen Killed While Attempting Robbery

A teenager was killed while attempting to rob a convenience store in Las Vegas.

A seventeen year old boy, believed to be a citizen of Russia, walked into the Family Shop Convenience store on Ann Road at 2:15 in the morning and showed the clerk what was believed to be a handgun. He demanded cigarettes and money and the clerk was complying. Two customers walked in and distracted the boy. The clerk grabbed an aluminum baseball bat and struck the boy in the head. The boy has died from injuries sustained from the blow to his head.

It was later found out that it wasn't a real gun after all.

According to the surveillance video, the police see no wrong doing in the force that was used by the clerk to protect himself from what was believed to be an actual weapon.

This is so very sad. Why are teenagers doing things like this? I feel terrible for his family.

This is truely something that no one wants to read. It's ashame that such a young life has been ended over nothing.

I would love to know why people do such stupid things in life like this. I feel so very bad for this poor kids family. I can't even imagine what they are thinking or feeling.

Not to mention that the clerk is probably suffering just as much. Though I would have done the same thing in that situation as well. Self preservation is a strong emotion, but now this clerk will live forever knowing that because of a kid making a mistake their life ended.

I wish there was a way to completely stop this type of thing from happening. It would be nice to turn back the hands of time and go back to where people could be trusted. Sadfully that is impossible though.
