Unlicensed Doctor Charged with Murder

An unlicensed doctor performed a buttocks enhancement surgery on a woman in Las Vegas in the back room of a tile shop and the woman died later the same day.

The "doctor" and his assistant tried to flee the country but were caught at McCarran International airport and arrested. They have been charged with murder.

The woman who died was Las Vegas resident Elena Caro, 42. She died after making it to the hospital.

Ruben Dario Matallana-Galvas, 55, and Carmen Olfidia Torres-Sanchez, 47 were arrested at McCarran International Airport on Saturday night in connection with her death as they were trying to catch a flight to Colombia

According to an arrest report, Matallana-Galvas told Las Vegas police homicide detectives that he injected Caro with 200 cubic centimeters of a "gel-type substance in six separate injection sites" in her buttocks

In a similar case that happened in Philadelphia back in February a woman died after an unlicensed doctor injected her with a gel-substance in her buttocks and the gel went into her central vascular system. It stopped her heart.

That is a shame. But I am glad the authorities caught these two before they got out of the US.

Can you imagine the uncleaniness of the place they chose to do this procedure at? The back of a tile shop?

I know that women like to look good at all ages, and a lot of them really dont have the money to have it done, but when it comes to something like this, its better not to have it done at all and still be alive for your family than to take a chance on losing ones life.

Yeah that is bad and I too am glad they caught this strange doctor.

I mean, what the heck was the doctor thinking?
This reminds me of the people who rob the casinos and make a run for it. Dah, right?

I heard on the news this morning that more and more air traffic controllers are being fired for sleeping on the job.

Now that's something that should concern air-traveling people...

I too am glad that these people were caught and are going to be charged for her death, however they are not the only ones at fault here!!


Let's keep in mind that this woman allowed this to happen. Something tells me that she wasn't forced to have this done to her in the back of a tile store. She should have known better and walked away. If she had she would most likely still be alive.

All parties involved in this are at fault. Though as I also said I am glad that the so called doctor and assistant were caught and won't be able to do this to anyone else.

Isn't that crazy. It happens all the time though. People need to accept who they are and not worry about appearances so much. It's one thing to wear some makeup and try to dress nice but to do something like this in the back of a tile shop. So not worth it.

I really feel for this womans family.

I am really glad they were caught too.
