Vegas Record Breakers

I just came across all of this and thought it would be neat to share with ya all. I thought it was pretty cool at least and hopefully you will too.

Here are some of the things you can see in Las Vegas that have broken records.

1. In front of the MGM Grand there is a huge lion. This lion weighs from what I understand more than 85,000 pounds made from 1/2 inch thick bronze plates and stands over 40 feet tall.


2. Mac King managed to break the record back in 2004 for the longest game of telephone. No wonder with more than 600 participants. In case you don't know what this game is here is an explanation: The game of Telephone is where one person starts off with a whispered message and whispers it to the next person and on along down the line. Now normally this message gets completely changed and ends with something totally different than what it started at. For this record the magician who started it all off whispered the message " Mac King is a comedy magic genius" and also predicted that the message at the end would be Macaroni cantaloupe knows the future. Mac King was only off by one world and got the record.


3. In the Excalibur Hotel and casino back in 2003 a man placed a hundred dollars into the Megabucks slot game and won more than $38,000,000.00 at the age of 25. Hope he spent his money wisely.


4. Practically everyone loves chocolate which means everyone should love this one. In the Bellagio there is a 14 ft tall fountain which is free standing. The special part of this fountain is that it is a chocolate fountain.The fountain circulates 120 quarts of milk, dark and white chocolate per minute. It holds almost 2 tons of chocolate.


5. Now here is one that is visable from outer space. It is the extremely powerful beam of light from the Luxor. There are many Xenon lamps that create amazing beam of light and total about 315,000 watts combined.


6. This is something I wouldn't mind finding myself some day. It is the worlds largest nugget of gold. It is called the "Hand Of Faith". This huge golden nugget weighs over 61 pounds. It was found in Australia and found its home to be of course The Golden Nugget.



7. Not sure if I would wanna stand under this one but it is the largest glass sculpture. This is found in the Bellagio on the lobby ceiling. It is over 65 feet by over 29 feet. This sculpture took more than 40,000 pounds or about of hand blown glass to create. This amazing feature is called the Fiori Di Como which stands for Flowers of Como.


8. When Las Vegas celebrated it's 100 birthday of course it couldn't be out done by all that it already holds. It had to really top things off. For the birthday of Vegas a cake was created which weighed 130,000 pounds which was a record breaker.
