Default Wynn in Court for Tip Pooling

On Tuesday, a court hearing began which was about Wynn Las Vegas and their tip-pooling policies. A dealer named Daniel Baldonado is is part of a law suit against Wynn because he believes Wynn's tip-pooling policy breaks the state law. Dealers are suing for $35 million in back pay and penalties to nearly 500 dealers.

Wynn's attorney says that their tip-pooling policy follows the state law. He says that their policy is similar to how restaurant workers relate to tips. Typically, busboys, bartenders and waiters all share the tips earned.

Those who are sharing in the tips which the dealers feel is wrong are the resort's front-line customer service team called casino service team leads.

The resort changed their tipping policy because their was a wide margin between what the dealers and other workers made.

A final decision on the matter should come no later than October.

Default Re: Wynn in Court for Tip Pooling

I think the dealers should get tips too, unless they're getting paid more and then they don't need tips.

But if I want to tip a dealer, it should be that I wanted to tip, not because I'm expected too.

If they are charging pool-side tipping, that is wrong.

The best way to settle that, is to charge for going into a gambling pool area.
Let's see how far that gets them.
