Default Airport Security and Sexual Harassment

There is a bill in New Hampshire which if passes will make those giving pat downs and body scans in airports sexual offenders unless they have some serious probable causes for the searches.

This bill will make it that if someone is scanned or given a pat down that those who give the searches could be forced to register as sex offenders if probably cause for the search isn't established!! If this bill passes in New Hampshire which many are hoping it will, it could be a matter of time that all other states follow suite?

I have never flown in my life so I don't know what airport security was like, however I do know after the 9-11 tragedy the amount of security at all airports was seriously increased to help keep the people safe. Even though it was a pain I would rather go through a lengthy security check than to have something like 9-11 ever happen again.

Because of all of this I am thankful that I don't fly, but for those who do I would imagine that getting searched or even scanned to be uncomfortable and embarassing as well, but isn't that all worth knowing that we won't have terrorists again taking over the planes killing thousands or more people??

Airport security sure has been beefed up since my last flight some two years ago.
I was patted down a few times during my trips and one time it didn't make much since, though the shirt I was wearing may have offended one security person.
I remember gathering my things at the end of the security line and one official read the shirt I was wearing and then called me over for a stip search/pat down.
I forget which shirt it was, may have been a shirt with poker on it or one of my many other shirts.

Be careful what type of clothing you wear while traveling through airport security.
It is best to not have any type of writing on your shirt or clothing.

What is written on a shirt should not have a damn thing to do with airport security unless it says something along the lines of a person carrying a bomb or is suicidal and so on. Other than that saying's on clothing should have any kind of impact on security measures taken.

I am guessing that would fall under the idea of probable cause, because getting searched or scanned simply based on what a shirt says isn't at all right!!!

Though thanks for the warning, I will be sure to wear a plain shirt when and if I ever talk myself into getting on board of an airplane!!

I do think that security is really important but to do a strip search of someone is totally invasive and should in no way be necessary.

If they feel that someone is a threat, tell them to take the bus and make them leave the airport immediately. But stop with these types of searches. And these should never be done on kids. As I said, if the think there is a threat of some kind, escort them out of the airport and off the gounds.

And the craziness continues. I worry all of the time about my husbands flights to and from Iraq. You never know who is going to be on the planes and what they are going to do.

I am not sure that with the new scanners that pat downs are necessary unless they saw something questionable. In other news a woman locally was arrested on man slaughter charges after a mentally ill man died after she had to restrain him. This was done to keep him from going back into a building while a fire alarm was sounding. You aren't safe no matter what your job is or why you had to do what you had to do. I question the reasoning of those who complain. Which is better,to be patted down or to be blown up.

My daughter will soon be flying to Paris and I am a bit concerned about who might search her and exactly where they will be "patting". To be honest though, I'd rather know that everyone was checked and that she will be on a safe flight. It's invasive but look at this world. It's necessary.
