Default Getting Around Vegas

What is the best way for a person or couple to get around in Las Vegas if they didn't drive there?

I know some rent a car but that seems to be a bit expensive if ya ask me. So I was wondering if there are betters ways to get around the area to see the sites, visit casinos, shopping and having some fun.

My other half's parents park their car at the local airport and that costs them quite a bit, then they pay to rent a car in Vegas. All of this adds up to some serious cash in the end.

If anyone knows a way they can get around fairly easily with out paying a whole bunch I would love to be able to tell them about it.

Yep, I know a good way to get around Las Vegas and it's really cheap; it's called walking.

I'm not sure if I could last another walk of nearly the entire Las Vegas strip, but most of the action is on one part of the strip and is only about a half mile in each direction.

If you want to see the older part of the strip, you will have to walk another mile or so to see that.

I don't think that is going to work well. They can't walk very well these days so that isn't going to be much of an option for them to use.

Default Walking Tips: The Long and Short of It

If you are up for walking, make sure to mind which side of the street you are on. When you walk on the MGM-Paris-Venetian side of Las Vegas Boulevard, you can save about 15 minutes on your walk than if you walk on the Aria-New York New York-Bellagio side of the street. The larger casino campuses on the west side of the Strip have taken great pains to draw you into their doors, sometimes making pedestrians travel a good deal off the straight and narrow path in order to do so.

If you're up for it, do the Bellagio side of the street in the morning when it's shaded and your feet are the freshest. The walk is a beautiful as it is tiring, so enjoy it while you can (and then take the "short cut" on the other side of the street back).
