Default My flight to Las Vegas

I went to Las Vegas many times before, but the trip in April of this year was so completely thrilling. I went by plane, and it was my first flight.

I was so excited about flying this trip that I couldnt sleep the night before, and even though we had to be at the airport 2 hours early, I was more than ready for it.

I was so amazed by everything you would have thought I was a little kid in a candy shop for the first time.

My husband was concerned that I might be scared but as I explained to him, I was too excited and too nosey to even consider being scared.

On take off, I had to savor the moment the wheels left the ground as I wondered how anything that big could even get off the ground.

The flight was uneventful with very little in the way of turbulence, and the sights out the window were just unreal.

When we flew over the mountains, I was amazed, but when we got over the Grand Canyon, I was speechless. It was absolutely beautiful.

Landing was a breeze and I was surprised at how smoothly the plane landed. Guess I expected a great big shaking episode of that, but it was actually pretty soft.

Will I fly again, you darn betcha.

Yeah that is one thing I can say for the Vegas flights, if you can fly during the day....start watching over the desert, it's soooo beautiful! It kinda looks like they pictures of Mars, and the Grand Canyon is awsome!

I recently returned from Vegas and flew Delta. If you have not flown Delta lately, the large planes have TV screens in the back of the seats. You can watch some TV channels, play a trvia game or listen to music for free. You can also watch other TV channels, movies or play some games by paying for them. If you watch a movie, make sure you have time to finish the movie because there are no refunds. Bring your own headset, else you can buy them from Delta for $2. The TV screens take credit cards. Also to note, eat good before you get on the plane. You get cookie or peanuts for free and some soda, but they are charging for everything else. Delta will soon start charging for 1st and 2nd bags (like everybody else). We had a smooth and on-time flight to Vegas but we were delayed 40 minutes on the flight back to Atlanta. Keep in mind that they are doing runway construction at the Vegas airport until May of 2009, so you may get stuck in a delay to and/or from Vegas.

We did get our flight delayed because of the runway work. Not by much, like 20 minutes.

Well worth waiting for

Well rigocampos, it depends on how long you will stay in Las Vegas, what time of year it is, and how much money you are willing to spend.

If you don't have much to spend and want to stay a couple of days, try Bally's or Harrah's hotels. Their rooms aren't too bad and they are fairly low priced.

If you have one or two thousand to spend, you can stay at the Palazzo, for under two-hundred a night most of the time, and their rooms are great; all suites with big screen TV's and nice washrooms.

I've heard the Bellagio and Caesars Palace hotels are great too, but they may be a bit more pricey to stay at.

If you are use to temperatures over 100 degrees, visit Las Vegas during the summer months; June to August. If not, you can visit any other month and the heat is at least bearable.

I like visiting between February to May and late September to late November, when the temperatures are between 65 degrees to 90 degrees.

Las Vegas is in the desert, so that means at night time the temperatures can drop from 20 to 30 degrees at night. If it's 90 degrees during the day, it can get down to 60 or 70 degrees at night.

Bring short and long sleve shirts, shorts, pants and a coat or two, you don't know when the weather will change.

Dress for the Las Vegas weather and your time will be more enjoyable while visiting.

The hotels supply you with soap, shampoo, etc so just throw a toothbrush and toothpaste in you bag. The rooms also have hair dryers so that isnt something you will need either.

If you plan on doing a lot of walking while sightseeing, be sure to bring a really comfortable pair of shoes.

That last part you mentioned IluvVegas is very important while walking and site-seeing in Las Vegas; a comfortable pair of shoes.

I wear my favorite sneakers while walking in Vegas; padded, fit snug, and their warm during cold nights.

Other brands of shoes can be very comfy too when you put in a jelled insole...
That's what I have in my sneakers and I they are so comfortable that I can walk in them for hours before my feet start feeling the pressure.
