Default Trips to Las Vegas

I know that several of you here have talked about having been to Las Vegas many times in the past. Do any of you guys have plans to head back in the near future?

I've never been to Las Vegas but from I have heard I would think that the Spring or the Fall would be the best time to go. Well, heck it's Vegas.. anytime is the best time I guess lol! Who cares what the weather is like!

I have heard lots of tips about dressing appropriately for the weather. Sweaters for night and tanks for the day. Drink lots of water because the temps are crazy. Make a packing list ahead of time so that nothing needed is left behind.

But what else is there? What else should those of us who have never stayed for even a few days in Las Vegas know?

The last thing I'd want is to be all the way across the United States from home and find out that I should have brought or done something.

LOL Vegas is definitely its on little world, that's for sure.

When I go, I usually make sure I stock up on water, bring a few sweaters for the night and some dressy clothes in case I want to catch a show or something, but other than that, I'm usually inside at the slots or BJ tables.

Most of the hotels have little shops that carry toiletry items you forget so there's no need to worry about those.

OH! I like to do a lot of walking around during the daytime, so I make sure I have comfy shoes.

Yes, wearing shoes that won't make your feet sore is a big plus in Vegas.
If it's your first time in Las Vegas, you will be doing a lot of walking to see the sites.
I wear tenny-shoes (what I call them) with gel in-soles. My ankles get sore before my feet do.

First thing you do when you check-in to your hotel (if your'e from the east coast) is ask the desk clerk to have a humidifier sent to your room, it helps.

Once you get checked into your room and get it situated the way you like it, clothes put away and temperature set where you like it, go out for supplies.
Most hotels sell water, but it's much cheaper to take a taxi (or walk) to a store and buy your bottled water.
My wife and I will walk down the strip to the closest store and buy 4 gallons of water (and some snacks of course).

There's more you can do to make your stay more comfortable, and you will find out what those are during or after your first visit.

Do you have to wear dressy attire in the casinos? Just wondering because my local casino pretty much has no dress code as long as you are decent but I know the vegas casinos are much swankier lol. If you have money, my casino lets you in lol!

I haven't noticed that any of the casino's have a dress code per say. I'd say as long as you're decent it's fine. But I have seen some really dressed up people in the casinos - either they have lots of money and want to be noticed or they want to look like they have money and get noticed anyway. HAHAHA

I'm always in my jeans and t-shirt in the casino's, maybe I'll be a little dress casual ( is that even a dress code??) but that's if I'm coming from a show or killing time at the slots before a show.

I needed a humidifier, the air was so dry. That was the hardest thing to get used to.I think that the best thing to do if you have never been before is to just take a few minutes and make a game plan.

Decide where all it is that you would like to go and map it out so that you can make the best of your time. You could lose alot of quality time that you could be enjoying just trying to decide where to go and what to do next.

Remember to do some research beccause there are alot of things to do for free in Vegas. You should google things to do free in Vegas and see what all you can find.I found alot of very interesting and beautiful things to do and look at there.

Can't forget to check out the water show at Ceasars Palace while you are walking the strip.
