Default Vegas has an app for that.

Imagine you're walking down the Strip, wondering what the drink specials are at the Bellagio or the current entertainment is at Caeser's Palace. Rather than walk the hefty distance to see for yourself, you look at your phone and it tells you not only exactly where you are in relation to what you need, but also every other option and exactly how far it is away from your current location. In a glance, you can know not only what's going hot on the Strip, but also what cool just outside the city's boundries.

This isn't science fiction. This is anywhere from right now to 12 months from now.

Smartphones are changing the way people live, how they search for information and how information finds them. Vegas stands to be on the cutting edge of this technology as it has so many points of access. Smart phones can be used as room keys, players cards, links to online concierge services, and so much more. Apple's iPhone has already landed several Vegas apps that may prove useful on your next trip--just make sure to investigate them and read the current user reviews to make sure they will do what you want them to do.

If you don't have a smart phone yet, you may want to consider getting one the next time you're eligible for an upgrade. There's a whole lot of world that can fit into your pocket.

This is a pretty cool App to have on your phone, especially for first time visitors to Vegas. It may help keep them from ending up somewhere they should not be.

I also heard of another app that is coming out for phones, well actually it is out I believe. What this app does is it allows people to track the planes which are in flight!

I do believe that you can see air speed, destination, flight number and so on with this new phone app.

Now I do believe that this information is free to the public, however I strongly believe that is should not be.

I think that this information may be of use to terrorists, which is why I think that it should not be public information.

I have to say that some phone apps are really good ideas and seriously help people, while at the same time there are also phone apps which can cause more damage than they are worth having.

I love some of the apps they have come out with for Blackberry's....I have a couple on mine that will let me find places to eat...or get gas ...that goes by where you are at the moment. Those come in handy when traveling.

The one you are talking about sounds way cool!

The saying "Theres an app for that" still rings true thats for sure. Having an app like that is awesome. You can find out just about anything that you'd want to know in Vegas without having to do all of the footwork. What will they think of next???

It's what they won't think of next that scares me. I have a feeling I'll look back to this time a year from now and wonder what the heck I did without my iPhone (in fact, I've only had mine for about two weeks and I'm already saying that.

One application to consider that's not really Vegas related is the Star Walk app. You can aim it at the sky and see the placement of all the stars, constellations, planets, and known galaxies right there on your screen. Even the Vegas lights can't ruin your chances of finding the Big Dipper. May not make a good app for finding a good cheeseburger at 3am, but it may help when you've been at the craps tables too long and need the North Star to lead you home!

The Iphones are amazing, I dont own one but have heard so much about them that its impressive.

This phone would actually make vacationing in Vegas a lot easier as far as finding what you want and finding how far away it is and how to get there.

The Iphone could make it hard on the taxi drivers that like to take you the scenic route to our hotel which ends up costing a fortune.

I want an iPhone soooo bad! They are amazing. I have a few friends who have them and they can do everything on them. Heck you don't even need a laptop if you have an iPhone.
