Default Legionaires Disease Found at Aria Resort

Wow, I just read that Legionnaire's disease was discovered at the Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas recently. I guess the hotel warned all of their recent guests.

I guess six cases were traced back to the hotel. Those incidents were reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

All six have been treated and are doing fine.

Quote:
Aria officials said guests who stayed at the resort from June 21 to July 4 might have been exposed to the bacteria, which spreads the disease.

The hotel said it detected "elevated levels" of the bacteria in several guest rooms -- a problem it said has been corrected.

"We will continue to monitor our water quality on an ongoing basis to ensure the safety of the water system and our guests," Paul Berry, vice president of hotel operations

That's really sad when you think about it...
A new resort opening up not long ago and now they have the CDCP crawling around checking the drinking water for bad bacteria.

It's good to hear they've cornered those little pesky bacteria vermin and remedied the problem.

I just wonder how that affected Aria's business.

This is scary! For the first time I think I am happy not to be going to Vegas. I wouldn't want to end up with Legionaires Disease just because I chose the wrong hotel.

Some people go from one hotel in Vegas to another so who is to say that this isn't going to spread to others as well, or is it something that is only transfered through water?

I hope my old man's parents are careful and stay safe and return safely home after their vacation is over with.
