Default Technology of the slot machines

At first, casinos put in slot machines as a diversion for the casual gamers. Unlike traditional table games, slot machines do not require any gambling knowledge, and anyone can get in the game with just a small bet.

This idea proved to be a large success, slot machines eventually moved off the sidelines to become the most popular and the most profitable game in town, bringing in more than 60% of the annual gaming profits in the United States.

The technology of the slot machines has changed a lot over the many years. The classic mechanical designs have been almost completely replaced by the computer controlled machines, but the game is about the same. The player pulls a handle to rotate a series of reels usually three, that have pictures printed on them. Winning or losing is determined by which pictures line up with the pay line. If each reel shows the same winning picture along the pay line, you win!!!

Slot machines have been nothing more than very fancily dressed-up Random Number Generators. The driving operational force of each machine is a computer chip that does nothing other than generate random series of numbers. This is done surprisingly quickly on average approximately one hundred random number sequences are generated every second. In fact, even when the machine is idle these numbers are still being generated.

Wow, that's suprising to know. Thanks for those interesting facts carmendevor.

I'm not really into how slot machines work, I just know I like to play them and they give me hours of fun and sometimes a lot winnings.

There are also several table games I like to play, like blackjack or three card poker, that give me some nice payouts.

But slots are one type of game where you can spend a lot of time on just a twenty-dollar bankroll. Not many other games can be played like that.

Thanks for all the different facts about slot machines. One fact though is that you do not have to play 5 cent, 25 cent, or higher slot machines to win.

I and 3 of my daughters went to the local casino this past week and we were all playing penny machines and Lisa started hitting but we thought it would stop as it usually does.

In this case though, she hit the free spins and more free spins within those free spins. Anyway to make a long story short, she cashed out for $500.09.

Again, thanks for all the slot facts.

That's way cool! I love to hear a story where someone made a big cash-out on a slot machine.

Sometimes it's really hard to get a big win while playing slots. Yeah, you can double your money and sometimes a little more, but that's usually the time to cash out or you'll lose it all back to the machine.

I guess a good rule for playing slot machines is, if you spend a few dollars and around ten spins and don't have any big hits, it's time to play another one.

I noticed when I moved around to different slot machines and throw in a few spins I can make just about as much as when I'd sit down and play one slot machine for a while.

Give that a try sometime when it's around midnight to two-am, and you might be surprised on how many payouts you'll get by moving around.

The technology of slot machines has also changed a lot over the years. The classic mechanical designs have been almost completely replaced by computer-controlled machines. But the game has remained the same. The player pulls a handle to rotate a series of reels (typically three) that have pictures printed on them. Winning or losing is determined by which pictures line up with the pay line. If each reel shows the same winning picture along the pay line, you win (certain single images are sometimes winners as well). The amount you win or the payout depends on which pictures land along the pay line.
